Is $23,000 to install kitchen cabinets a fair price?
Project Details
I hired a designer for this project, which quickly turned into a nightmare. The designer promised countertops and cabinets in 2 months, but there were significant delays, including late renderings, late measurements, and a 3-week delay in installations. The team also worked after hours in my HOA, which has strict 8 am to 6 pm guidelines, on three separate occasions, resulting in a warning and threat of fines from the HOA. The designer overpromised and under-delivered, even laughing off neighbor complaints about noise. I felt unable to fire them due to a $30,000 deposit. The project is now 'done,' but many small items like installing the sink, faucets, and outlet cover plates are incomplete. The final product, specifically the drawers next to the range, has only 3 drawers instead of the 4 shown in the rendering, and the cabinet above the refrigerator was incorrectly measured and needed modification. I am now trying to handle the final payment of $15,000 and am seeking advice on how to make the 3 deep drawers functional for utensil storage.
