Is $5,400 to flush out the drain tile a fair price?
Project Details
Since buying my house two years ago, I've experienced basement water intrusion twice, both times through the basement windows due to clogged window wells. The first time, I paid a septic company to clear the vertical drain pipes from the window wells to the drain tile, which seemed to work initially. However, during a heavy snow melt, the window wells still didn't drain, leading to more water in the basement. This is a very expensive issue, and I want to ensure I choose the right solution. My insurance has covered repairs twice, but I'm concerned they won't cover a third incident. I'm not very knowledgeable about these issues and want to avoid being ripped off or wasting money. My downspouts are good, and I don't have a sump pit. I'm unsure about the water table and how to address it if it's an issue.
