Is $2,400 to tape and mud drywall in two bedrooms and living room a fair price?
Project Details
My family moved out, and I needed a quick turnaround to avoid paying more than two months of rent and mortgage. This is an old brick rowhome. I demo'd drop ceilings, plaster & lath, replaced sagging joists, and added insulation to ceilings and acoustic polyethylene between wall furring strips. The drywall is a mix of my work and friends' work. The open corner on the chimney bumpout will be getting a closet. This is not a forever home; it will eventually be an investment property. I had fun doing it and got great practice for future projects. I'm happy that the lights are laser straight. I also installed the recessed lighting, put in a couple more breakers for two new lines in the kitchen, vetted all JBs, new outlets and light switches, and ran CAT6 to all rooms. My friend, who is an electrician, checked the work. Fortunately, the electrical was done in the past 20 years with 12 gauge, so I didn't have to replace many runs.

Chuck with a Truck performed the taping and mudding for the drywall in two bedrooms and the living room. The homeowner supplied all necessary materials. The requested finish level was 3-4. The homeowner noted some bubbles and areas needing fine sanding, but was satisfied with the bulk work done for an affordable price.
