Is $1,400 to finish interior around new skylight a fair price?
Project Details
I don't know anything about drywall and I need some advice. I recently got my roof replaced and had this new skylight installed. I'm a new homeowner with no experience in this type of trade work, so I'm really out of my element dealing with this stuff. I have not paid them yet and am trying to figure out how much of a discount to ask for due to the poor quality of work and the unfulfilled promise of texturing.
Quote Details
This quote was for the interior finish work around a newly installed skylight, which measures approximately 2'x4' and 2.5' deep. The work was supposed to include texturing but excluded paint. The homeowner notes several issues with the completed work: - Rough and unstraight cuts on the edges facing the skylight - Skylight is off-center with gaps - Mud needs sanding - Significant gaps were present before mudding - Texturing was promised but will not be completed
