Is $128,000 to underpin the foundation a fair price?
Project Details
I’m under contract on a home in Santa Cruz mountains and just received a foundation inspection report. I’m trying to decide whether this is manageable or a deal breaker. Floor elevation difference of about 1.6–1.9 inches across 32–38 feet. Total 3.2”. Movement appears consistent with expansive soil. Some crawlspace posts are leaning. One structural crack recommended for epoxy injection. Engineer says foundation replacement is not immediately required.
