Is $2,500 to paint the entire house in semigloss a fair price?
Project Details
I have a new construction home that currently has semigloss in the bathrooms and kitchen, and flat paint everywhere else. I already knew I would have to repaint. During the final walkthrough, many small paint and drywall touch-ups were noted, and the new construction painting contractor came to make these corrections. I was considering semigloss because I have two toddlers who put their hands on everything, and I already have dirty spots on their room walls. However, after feedback, I've decided to go with eggshell instead. My house is very open, and I believe it's not a very big job, possibly doable in a day with a crew. I'm looking for solutions if eggshell and semigloss aren't the right answer.

Paint the entire interior of my house
This quote is for a full interior paint job covering walls, ceilings, and trim for a 2300 sqft house. The paint color specified is Roycroft bottle green from Sherwin-Williams Emerald line. Initially, two coats were quoted, but three coats were required due to the dark color and coverage issues. The application method involved spraying the trim and rolling the walls and ceilings. Concerns include "picture framing" lines and poor cut-in work. Additionally, the HVAC air filter was found to be completely green, indicating poor containment of paint mist. Primer was not included in the scope of work, and the existing walls were a mixture of white, gray, and blue colors.
