Is $8,500 to paint the exterior of my cedar siding house and replace some boards a fair price?
Project Details
We recently had our cedar siding house painted, which was our first major professional paint job. We paid $8,500, which was one of our more expensive quotes, so we had high expectations. We're currently having issues with the quality of the work, as there are missed spots and the replaced cedar boards look very different despite being painted. We were told two coats of Woodscapes stain were applied, but we suspect only one coat was done on the first day. We're also surprised by how much of the old Woodscapes stain (applied in 2019) came off in chunks during power washing, which shaped our expectations for the new stain. We are currently in active conversation with the contractor to address these concerns, as we're unsure what constitutes 'nit-picking' versus legitimate issues.
