Is $400 to replace trim and fascia boards a fair price?
Project Details
I had two paint companies bid on the exterior of my home. The first company seemed fair and quoted $400 for trim and fascia replacement. The second company also seemed knowledgeable but quoted a T&M estimate of $4-5k for trim, fascia, and siding replacement, which I accepted. They replaced 5 fascia boards (70 ft) with 4 guys working 8.5 hours, and the cost was over $3k initially. After questioning the cost, the painter discounted it, but I still paid about $2k more than the first company's quote for trim and fascia. I feel the cost for just the fascia replacement was excessive compared to the first bid for more work.
