Is $5,000 to refinish stairs with clearcoat and white paint a fair price?

My husband and I just had our stairs redone in our home. We went with White Oak and white riser with iron balusters. We had a painting and staining company that came highly recommended from neighbors complete the stairs. I feel like they did sloppy work and I would love opinions because I’m obviously not a professional in this space. The clearcoat is chunky and thick around the bottom of the iron baluster reels and the blue tape has been sealed in. The corners of the stairs are not cleanly painted. The blue tape and washi tape they used to tape off are underneath the clearcoat so I’m not able to get them off of the stairs.
