Is $1,250 to install a new Pent-Air EC-160317 filter a fair price?

I have an existing DE filter on my pool that recently sprung a leak in the top lid. I'm looking for help on a path forward, as replacing just the lid seems inefficient and costly at $1,000 for the part alone. My pool is enclosed in a lanai, and we also have a salt cell. I'm wondering if it would be prudent to put some sort of roof over my equipment to help prevent future sun exposure.
