Is $6,500 to add two 3-foot sheer descents with a dedicated pump a fair price?
Project Details
We are having a pool built with a raised patio creating a wall. Initially, plans were for two 24-inch sheer descents, but I wanted to remove them due to concerns about added maintenance, more equipment to go bad, staining, and pH levels. My pool builder (PB) advised against removing them, stating I'd be making a mistake and that problems usually arise with bad PBs. I suggested a fountain for sound instead. The wall where they would be installed will be tiled with porcelain veneer that looks like stone. I'm now leaning towards adding them, specifically two 3-foot sheer descents, with the top deck being 16 feet wide. I'm concerned about them getting grimy and potential issues like leaks or breakage since they are built into a 24-inch raised 14'x16' patio. I also feel they are just for aesthetics with no practical use.
