Is $950 to drain and acid wash a pool a fair price?

Project Details

I've been working on my green pool, which now looks milky and I can't see the bottom. I've been experiencing ongoing issues like poor circulation and no water flow to the skimmer, which I believe need to be resolved alongside fighting the algae. I'm concerned that even after the water clears, tough algae stains will remain on the walls, floor, tiles, and grout (waterline) because the pool was green for a long time. My pool is about 16,000 gallons. I can't see the exact location of the stains due to the milky water, but I see them whenever I brush or stir the water, and scrubbing them off hasn't worked.

Drain and clean a pool

This service involves draining and cleaning the pool. The company indicated it was the only way to remove suspected plaster particles, algae, leaves, and other debris. However, they advised me to perform the service myself, as the pool's plaster is 20-30 years old and coming off, and they didn't want to charge me for something I could do myself.
