Is $3,500 to replace a sand filter for a pool a fair price?
Project Details
I just had my sand filter replaced by my pool maintenance company. I noticed they propped the new filter up partially on old wood boards, which left it partially unsupported. I offered to get new boards, but they said it was too late as they had already filled it with 300 lbs of sand. They claimed the old boards were used because of plumbing height, but it looked like they still had to tilt the pipes to connect them. I was expecting a cleaner and neater outcome for the price I paid. I live in Seattle, so labor rates are high due to limited competition and less year-round work for pool/hot tub companies. I've since reached out to the service manager, who is sending a crew to properly fix and support the filter.
