Is $9,014 to replace a pool heater a fair price?

I bought a house with a pool 5 years ago. My 30-year-old heater may need replacing. I've noticed that everything related to the pool seems more expensive than I would imagine. For example, I've seen the heater quoted here for just under $4K at pool supply stores, and I'm wondering if this much upcharge is normal for pool service companies, especially since labor is charged separately. I've had a similar experience with a bid for a chemical automation system (IPS M820), which was $1600 online but quoted at $2600 by a company.
