Is $3,500 to connect and upgrade gas hookup for pool heater a fair price?

Project Details

We're having a 20,000 gallon fiberglass pool installed this week and want to add a gas pool heater. The gas line is about 20 feet from the pool system. We were also told their plumber said our gas hookup needs to be upgraded to handle the amount of gas it would need. I just wasn't sure if this was a good price and worth shopping around.

Quote Details

- Connect the gas hookup for a new gas pool heater. - The gas line is approximately 20 feet from the pool system. - Upgrade the existing gas hookup to handle the required gas volume for the pool heater.

This quote is for re-running a gas line to accommodate a pool heater. The existing gas line was installed too small for the current large pool heater, rendering it non-operational. - Scope: Re-run gas line for pool heater - Reason: Existing gas line is undersized for the installed pool heater
