Is $600 to install a homeowner-provided salt water generator (SWG) a fair price?

Project Details

I am building a new 16,000 gallon gunite pool. I initially planned for a standard chlorine pool but am now reconsidering and want a Salt Water Generator (SWG). I plan on getting the CircuPool RJ45+. The builders use Jandy, and I've read mixed reviews about their SWG. I believe the $600 installation fee is high, especially since Circupool allows for DIY installation without voiding the warranty, and reviews suggest it's easy to install. I am wondering if the existing erosion feeder can be removed and the SWG installed in its place, as the equipment is already plumbed and wired. I am also asking if the 30-day waiting period after plaster before running the SWG is correct.

Open an in-ground pool

This service was quoted to make the pool ready for use. - Remove pool cover (note: washing of the cover was not included, and the pool guy wanted to fold it dirty and wet) - Shock the pool to eliminate algae - Backflush and rinse the filter - Apply chemicals or use the salt water generator (SWG) as needed to achieve clear water and a clean pool
