Is $1,900 to replace a pool salt cell a fair price?

Project Details

I recently hired a new pool company for monthly maintenance. As part of this service, they performed a full diagnostic of my pool system and informed me that my salt cell was not functional and needed to be replaced. The existing salt water system was installed about 2-2.5 years ago, which seems abnormal given that most information online suggests a typical lifespan of about 5 years. I'm questioning if this quote is in line with typical repairs and if there's a way for me to verify the salt cell's functionality without getting another quote. I've also had companies servicing the pool weekly for over a year.

Replace a Jandy AquaPure salt system cell

The quote is for replacing the existing Jandy AquaPure salt system cell. The pool guy indicated this would fix error codes 125 and 194, though the system later reverted to code 120. The homeowner is unsure if this will be a lasting fix.
