Is $4,800 to install a Hayward HDF400 pool heater a fair price?
Project Details
I built a new saltwater pool in 2020 in Southern California, and the Hayward heater just went out already, even though it's out of warranty. My pool guy said they never go out this early and suggested it might have been a defective unit from Covid times. The heater is leaking, and the heating system is completely out. I regularly spot-check my pool chemistry, and it's always good, plus they come every week to take care of the pool. I really trust my pool guy, and he recommends getting a new heater over replacing the heat exchange, which he estimated would cost $1.5K-$2K to repair. I'm trying to decide between a new Hayward HDF400 for $4800 or a Jandy JXI with Versaflo for $5200.
