Is $20,000 to upgrade a 20x40 pool from smooth white plaster to Pebbletec a fair price?
Project Details
I am getting quotes for a 20x40 pool with an 8-foot deep end. I am concerned about the high cost of the Pebbletec upgrade, which ranges from $20-25k, especially since one company quoted it at $5k, though I'm unlikely to go with them. I feel the price is too high and am considering negotiating with the builder, especially since the overall project is over $120k. I am also considering if white plaster might be better for kids and if the rougher texture of Pebbletec is an issue, although I hear there are smooth pebble finishes now. I prefer the plaster look.
