Is $10,000 to replace the roof a fair price?

Project Details

I noticed some cracked boards in my roof a couple of weeks ago. A contractor came to inspect it today and explained that the tiles are likely at the end of their life and porous, which is allowing water to soak into the boards and cause them to crack. He suggested I might have a couple of years left, but a leak could occur and lead to higher costs in the future. I was seeking second opinions, but it appears I will need a new roof. I am located in Scotland.
