Is $30,000 to replace entire roof to grade 3 and two stories of rain gutters a fair price?
Project Details
I had a pretty major hailstorm the other day. A roofing company took pictures and provided this estimate, which is for $30,000, with my deductible being $5,000. The salesman is definitely pouring on the drama trying to get me to sign with him, claiming I have to get it fixed now to prevent leaks and avoid issues during a house sale inspection. I also noticed damage to my outside A/C unit. I just can’t imagine those minor marks are going to cause the entire roof to fail!

Replace entire roof
The quote was for an entire roof replacement. The homeowner has significant concerns about the quality and execution of the work, specifically noting the following issues: - Roof sheets and cap pieces are made of metal sheets layered overtop of one another, which the homeowner describes as looking "trashy." - Siding was cut at the bottom and slid up under the flashing, left looking unfinished, raising concerns about it ripping off due to high winds. - The new roof design causes water runoff to completely miss the gutters and go straight to the ground. - Two vents on one side of the house were eliminated during the replacement.
