Is $21,000 to replace shingle roof a fair price?

I just got two estimates to replace the 30-year-old shingle roof on my 1-story ranch (low-pitch). Those figures feel miles higher than anything I’ve heard neighbors mention, but I’m guessing 2020-24 price hikes haven’t let up. I’m mainly trying to get a reality check before I sign a contract or keep shopping around. I ran the project through roofquotes.com and got five side-by-side bids the next morning, range was $18 k to just under $23 k, all itemized. Seeing that spread made the market rate a lot clearer, and I signed with one of the middle quotes. Install is booked for next Thursday and the anxiety level has dropped a notch.
