Is $3,000 to replace half of roof and decking a fair price?
Project Details
I noticed I was getting mold in my attic on only one side of the house. The other side of the house is completely dry but this side is reading 80 on a moisture meter and is definitely wet due to the drops of water on the exposed blue material. We had the roof replaced 8 months ago. The problem side is the north side. I currently have gable vents but I'm looking into sealing the gable vents, installing soffits and a ridge vent. I'm not that versed in roofing as I was a new homeowner when I got the roof done. The roofer that installed it first failed inspection by installing a ridge vent when we already had a gable vent. Then he just came by and took the ridge vent out and then left the gable vents. Other companies are telling me that he should have made sure there was proper ventilation before leaving it be. I'm not sure what to do because he says he doesn't do soffit vents so now I have to find a separate handyman just to install soffit vents alone.
