Is $20,000 to replace existing cedar shake roof with new asphalt shingles a fair price?

Project Details

I have a cedar shake roof with a decent amount of growth on it and was wondering if it would be possible to clean and protect it instead of replacing it. However, I've realized the roof is old and trying to squeeze more years out of it by cleaning is probably more costly in the long run than just getting it replaced now. I'm looking for good quality material options.
