Is $6,600 to upgrade the level 2 switchboard a fair price?

Project Details

I am brand new to solar power systems but keen to get them installed because my bills are about $1400 per quarter. My daily electricity use is 50kW. I intend to move within 4 years and lease the property out. Everything is electrified at my home, including one full kitchen, one kitchenette, two laundries, and a 340L off-peak water tank which accounts for 20-30% of my bills (I suspect something is off with it). I also have central aircon that runs very rarely for 2 hours at a time on extremely cold or hot days. I work from home 50% of the time. The family friend who provided the quote mentioned a 10-20 year warranty.

Upgrade electrical panel for solar installation

This quote is for an electrical panel upgrade required after the initial solar survey. The upgrade involves installing a 200/200 line fed panel separate from the meter. This is needed to expand the capacity of the panel to accommodate the new solar system and provide load capacity for two additional 40 amp breakers. It also addresses concerns about existing electrical capacity due to an EV charger that already required a 100 amp breaker. - Panel Type: 200/200 line fed panel separate from the meter- Purpose: Expand panel capacity for solar system- Additional Capacity: Load capacity for two more 40 amp breakers- Context: Existing 100 amp breaker for EV charger
