Is $23,318 to install a solar panel system (Future Energy) a fair price?
Project Details
I live in Los Angeles and have LADWP. My roof gets a lot of sun with almost no shade. My annual electricity usage from May 2024 to April 2025 was 10,827 kWh. I added an EV charger in March, which has used 325 kWh in April, 348 kWh in May, and 421 kWh in June. I started my search on EnergySage and had follow-up calls with 5 installers. LADWP is not in NEM 3.0, so a battery is not needed for now. I've seen that many people prefer micro inverters over string inverters and haven't researched hybrid systems. Solar Optimum is a larger company with more reviews, but some people complain about upcharges. Future Energy is smaller with fewer reviews but seems legitimate. I'm trying to decide if the QCell panels, which are at least "assembled in America" compared to the "completely made in China" Canadian Solar panels, are worth an extra $2700.
