I recently moved from Arizona to Northern California and my new house is about double the size of my previous one. My current electric bill is around $750 a month, so I'm looking to eliminate that with a solar system. I live in a rural, high fire zone in El Dorado County where we experience power outages for 2-3 days at a time during fires or snow storms, which is why I'm including batteries. I'm an ex-mechanic and current police officer. I'm using a specific commercial ITC discount strategy where the solar company owns the system for the first 6 years to secure the discount before selling it back to me for free. I wanted Franklin batteries for better generator integration, but the rebate only applied to the Tesla Powerwalls.
