Is $25,578 to install a solar panel system a fair price?
Project Details
I am looking to line up an install in the Boston area before the end of the year for a fairly modest system on a raised ranch. These are the five quotes I received on EnergySage; I am planning to follow up with some other local installers this week. NuWatt and Boundless seem to have put the most thought into sizing. I'm leaning towards a system with some panels on the back roof, even though they won't be perfectly efficient. We are hoping to do a renovation in a couple of years that would add on to the front of the house, and could potentially relocate those panels to a better location at that time. We could potentially remove the tree immediately behind the house (on the right of the image); unfortunately the one shading the roof on the left isn't ours, though we could probably get permission to do some trimming. I would welcome thoughts on relative merits of the panels, installers, and any helpful advice!
