Is $56,700 to install a 19.13 kW solar panel system with Jinko panels and SolarEdge inverters a fair price?
Project Details
I am trying to decide between two solar quotes, as I liked these best out of all the ones I received. My home is located in CT, and I used 18,500 kWh last year. I'm concerned about the longevity of the smaller local installer (Option A) given the changes in the industry, but I appreciate that their warranties are backed by SolarInsure. I've researched string vs. microinverters, but the choice isn't clear to me. I'm unsure if spending an additional $5,000 for SolarInsure and a preferred company vibe is justifiable. My roof is divided to face east/west, which affects sun exposure, and a small section gets minor shade from trees. I'm wondering if an east/west roof configuration strongly favors microinverters. I'm also worried about the potential bankruptcy of any of the manufacturers within the next five years. All of this is making me anxious, but I'm ready to move forward with a decision.
