Is $31,600 to install solar panels a fair price?
Project Details
I have a question about the 30% federal tax credit for solar panels. My panels cost around $31,600, and I'm supposed to get approximately $9,600 back. I'm trying to figure out if I will be able to get the full 30% tax credit back when I file my taxes next year, or if I will have to spread that credit over two years. I believe this is a fairly large system.

Install 10-15 solar panels
This proposal is for the installation of 10 to 15 solar panels to qualify for the 30% federal tax credit. The estimated cost for this range of panels is between $13,000 and $18,000 before the tax credit. - Panels: Trina 425w - Inverters: Each panel will have its own Enphase inverter - Discount: Approximately 20% discount on panels - Roof Orientation: Ideal with nearly 94% solar optimization; at least 20 panels would fit on the prime section of the roof, with additional panels fitting on other sections.
Install a 9.9kW solar panel system
This quote is for the installation of a 9.9kW solar panel system. The price is pre-federal tax credit. I am considering this prior to the 30% federal tax credit going away.
