Is $50,000 to add 12 solar panels and 2 Tesla Powerwall batteries a fair price?
Project Details
I bought a new construction home that came with a 4kWh solar system. In California, I'm only allotted a maximum of 10kWh systems, and my current system doesn't meet my needs because I have two EV cars that I charge at home. I called Sunrun, and they quoted well over $50,000 to add 12 panels and 2 Tesla Powerwall v3 batteries, which is out of the question since it would be financed and come out to much more in the long run. I'd prefer to buy a 6kW system directly from a supplier for around $8,000-$12,000, which is within my budget. I also plan to buy batteries, such as at least two Enphase 5kW batteries, which are far cheaper than what Sunrun wants for the Tesla ones.
