Is $54,257 to install a 17.4 kW solar panel system a fair price?
Project Details
I am looking for a gut check on this quote. It seems solid and is from a reputable and responsive company, though not the cheapest. I am trying to maximize production as I will be below my usage and Massachusetts has net metering. I am wondering if I should consider IQ8H, HC, or M inverters, or if the IQ8+ is sufficient given my home's less than ideal production conditions. I'm also hoping to fit more panels on the roof than the estimated 40 once someone is on site. I am concerned about getting the install done by the end of the year to qualify for incentives and was hoping for contractual terms guaranteeing this, but the company only offered a full refund if they don't meet the deadline. My annual usage is 22,600 kWh. I expect to get well below max production, with panel exposure percentages ranging from 75% down to 45%.
