Is $43,809 to install a solar panel system with battery storage and EV charging a fair price?
Project Details
I am new to solar and looking for a system that covers my current electricity usage and allows me to charge a new EV. The system is projected to offset 140% of my current usage, with the extra capacity for the EV. The installer raised a concern about my current electrical setup (125A for both main and subpanel) and recommended replacing my current subpanel with a 200A SPAN smart panel for $9,000 (not included in this quote) to accommodate the EV charger. This recommendation was made because upgrading the main panel might be too expensive due to an underground power system. This subpanel upgrade is intended to comply with inspection and manage/throttle power consumption from the EV.
