I have a nearly 120yo home with beautiful natural woodwork on the ground floor and painted upstairs. Prior homeowners replaced the original windows with Marvin wood/aluminum inserts downstairs and vinyl upstairs, but the Marvins are splitting apart. I am concerned about the value of the house versus the cost of the windows and whether fiberglass would be more durable than wood/aluminum.
