Is $6,000 to self-leveling subfloor for 550 sq ft a fair price?
Project Details
I am in the middle of a renovation, replacing carpet with Mohawk RevWood. I discovered how wavy the subfloor is, as I had carpet over carpet. The living room and hallway are the problem areas, which have particle board subfloor, unlike the kitchen which has plywood. I used a self-leveling laser and measured the relative difference between points on a grid, finding about a 1/2" drop in the center and a hump from the wall downstairs. The joists are 10" and my house is almost 50 years old. I am not going to do this fix myself.
