Is $350 to remove balcony tile and grind surface a fair price?
Project Details
My condo is undergoing a structural inspection and waterproofing project, which requires the removal of all balcony coverings, including my 18" travertine tiles on a 240 sq ft balcony. I initially thought this was just for inspection and questioned its necessity, suggesting less invasive methods like drilling holes. However, it's now clear it's for waterproofing, and a new bylaw will prevent us from replacing any coverings. I'm upset about this, as it feels like a waste of money and I'll miss my easy-to-clean tile, especially since my balcony hasn't experienced water damage, unlike some others in the complex. Luckily, the contractor doing the whole complex is giving us a deal on the demo.
