Is $4,800 to replace indirect water heater with a Utica H2OI40UB a fair price?
Project Details
My existing 40-gallon Amtrol boiler-mate, which is over 20 years old and paired with a 10-year old Weil-Mclain NG boiler, has a slow drip from the bottom flange and needs to be replaced. I'm considering a DIY installation because the installation costs seem very high compared to the unit price, but I'm concerned about voiding the warranty. I'm also looking for recommendations on brands and models, as reviews for Amtrol are not great, and guidance on whether DIY is a good idea.
