Is $2,300 to replace old 4 inch ductwork with 6 inch a fair price?
Project Details
I was quoted to replace old 4 inch ductwork with 6 inch. It seems like it would be pretty easy to DIY, I'm just wondering the best way to attach ductwork to the air handler. Would I need to make a new plenum or would I be able to use the current one? Also, should I run each 6 inch run directly from the air handler or should I do the box ductwork and do the 6 inch runs off of it? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. So the easiest way would be if I had an HVAC contractor install a new plenum and 7 6-inch takeoffs and then I just swap the 4-inch ductwork runs with 6-inch.
