Is $6,000 to remove old insulation, air seal, and blow in new cellulose insulation in attic a fair price?

Project Details

My house was built in the 90s, is 3700 sq ft, and has significant cooling and heating costs. An energy audit showed about 3 air changes per hour, so it's reasonably tight, with no major suggestions besides sealing lighting receptacles in the attic. There's a 5-degree differential between the upstairs and main floor, and a 10-degree differential between the upstairs and basement. I have a single HVAC unit for all 3 floors, which keeps up but has uneven distribution of conditioned air. I was hoping the air sealing would reduce the stack effect. I'm trying to figure out if comfort will markedly improve with new insulation, especially regarding temperature regulation between floors. I'm not so much worried about the financial ROI on attic insulation as I am about whether I will be able to perceive improvement in temperature regulation between floors.
