Is $6,800 to remove old insulation, air seal, add baffles, and blow in R-49 cellulose a fair price?
Project Details
My attic insulation is basically nonexistent, original to my house from 1978, with maybe R-11 worth of ratty fiberglass batts that are compressed and falling apart. My energy bills have been insane, and I finally decided to sort it. I'm questioning the necessity of removing the old insulation, as I've done some research and my neighbor also suggested it might be an unnecessary upsell.
