Is $3,000 to build a custom range hood surround a fair price?
Project Details
I'd like to do something like this for our range hood. It shows up basically like this in our drawings. I got estimates from cabinet companies and one custom cabinet maker quoted us $3-4k for the range hood surround as part of the cabinetry (similar to Shiloh RH-49). I'm wondering if this could be accomplished by just framing it out and covering with plaster or drywall for a lot less money. We will have painted cabinets (thinking F&B Oval Room Blue) and I was thinking the off-white hood would look nice.
