Is $3,200 to repaint kitchen cabinets a fair price?

I am looking to re-do my kitchen to make it more modern, fresh, and bright. I like the idea of a light color kitchen with white cabinets, but I received an estimate for $3200 to repaint the cabinets, which seems high. I think our current cabinets are real wood and would rather keep them. I want lighter countertops, not completely white, but a neutral tone with subtle patterns. Our current ones are greenish granite and have a crack. I have already upgraded all appliances to stainless steel and replaced the lights with recess lighting. I really dislike the color gray.
