Is $350 to asbestos testing before popcorn ceiling removal a fair price?
Project Details
I am having popcorn ceilings removed by a drywall company. I initially received a quote for $1600 for asbestos testing with a 24-hour turnaround, which felt very high, especially since my home was built in 1988, putting it on the edge of the period where asbestos was commonly used. After calling around, I found another company that offers the same 24-hour turnaround for $350. The original company then offered to lower their price to $1450, which felt strange.
