Is $1,595 to run a new gas line for a kitchen stove with pipe upgrade and city inspection a fair price?
Project Details
I have gas heat but an electric stove and am looking to add a gas line for a new gas range. I am getting quotes with very different pricing and am concerned about the scope of work, especially regarding permits and inspections. The run to the stove is about 20 feet, a straight run from the boiler with an open ceiling. The stove has a total BTU rating of 59,500 BTU across 5 burners, with an 18K BTU Dual Ring Power Burner. My boiler is a high-efficiency Viessmann. I'm nervous about the boiler getting less gas when cooking. I've already had an electrician prepare the 120v outlet for the stove according to the manual's specifications. The plumber for the lower-rate quote is licensed. I prefer gas stoves as I grew up with gas and worked in restaurants as a cook for 25 years.
