Is $700 to close a 35,000 gallon in-ground pool a fair price?

Project Details

My pool guy is charging $700 to close our pool, including chemicals, and the price has gone up over the years. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to close it myself. I live in an area with cold and snowy winters.
