Is $5,500 to replace pool heater a fair price?
Project Details
I bought the house this winter and discovered the rusted burner-tray floor in my Raypak P-M266A pool heater (built 2016) during spring opening. About half of the floor is rusted away, and the "egg-crate" baffle is in a pile. The unit still fires up and heats the pool, but I'm unsure if it's safe to operate like this for the season. I received two quotes for replacement ($5,500 and $3,500) but wanted to avoid the cost of a completely new unit.
