Is $8,000 to purchase an above ground pool a fair price?

Recently moved into a home that had an above ground pool in the past, but was not cared for and removed before we bought the property. So, the 25' spot it was in is still there and I would love to put a new pool there. I see places online like The Pool Factory selling them for $2k-$3k, but then got a quote from my local pool store for $8k as the cheapest option. Are the online options junk that will fall apart in a few years? Why is there such a big difference? It's actually not full service - just the pool - which is why I was a little surprised at the price difference. They recommended a separate company for installation. I'm hoping mine is already reasonably level since there used to be a pool there until recently.
