Is $4,100 to replace 9 skylights and perform roof maintenance a fair price?

Project Details

I've owned my house for about 4 years and have become aware of the pros and cons of having skylights. I love the natural lighting they provide and the decreased electricity bills, but I've also read about the inevitability of them leaking. Currently, one of my 9 skylights is leaking. I received two bids from reputable roofers, but neither PDF specified the details of the skylights to be installed. I'm doing research now because there's a lot more to skylights than I was aware of, including options like sealed vs. vented, glass vs. acrylic/plastic, and different heat transfer coefficients. I plan to ask detailed questions about the skylights each company intends to install, as there's a significant price difference between the two bids for what appears to be the same scope of work, and I'm trying to understand the justification for the higher cost.
