Is $2,000 to install an attic fan and box vents a fair price?
Project Details
I'm dealing with a very hot attic, sometimes reaching over 150°F, and there's no airflow. My house has a ridge vent but no soffit vents due to aluminum siding over the eaves. Additionally, my AC B-vent is letting water into the attic. I've received conflicting proposals from roofers and am concerned that the cheaper option, which only adds more exhaust, won't solve the heat and moisture issues long-term. I'm looking for advice on whether the DCI SmartVent system is effective and if a fan/box vent approach is viable without proper intake.
