Is $9,000 to replace barn roof with asphalt shingles a fair price?

I need to replace an old and failing asphalt shingle roof on my barn, which is just a storage barn with no animals. My house and garage already have standing seam roofs. I'm considering if it would be silly not to go with standing seam given the price difference, and if it will increase resale value a lot. I think I am likely to be at this property until retirement (20ish years).
